Quality Assurance

Environmental Analytical Service (EAS) is a dedicated Air Testing Laboratory that has specialized in Ambient Air Analysis, Indoor Air Quality Testing, Source Analysis, Product Testing and Gas Analysis for over 20 years.  EAS was founded by Dr. Steven Hoyt in 1985 as the first commercial air testing laboratory that specialized in the measurement of low level organic compounds in air and gas samples using cryogenic trapping with SUMMA canisters, this methodology, developed at the Oregon Graduate Institute later became the foundation of EPA Method TO-14.

EAS - A History of Quality

Environmental Analytical Service has had a commitment to quality since it opened its doors in 1985.  EAS has always had a fully documented Quality Assurance program, but more importantly the staff at EAS has been trained to be always looking at the data - whether it is calibrations, blanks, or samples to make sure that the data "looks" right based on our years of experience.

Over the years EAS has participated in audits, performance testing samples, inter-laboratory comparisons, and has worked directly for the US EPA, Navy, Air Force, California Air Resources Board and many large consultants.  EAS is approved by the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP) for Air Testing.

EAS - A History of Innovation

Environmental Analytical Service was founded to providing innovative solutions for air testing.  EAS was the first commercial air-testing laboratory that specialized in using cryotrapping and SUMMA canisters for the measurement of low-level organic compounds in ambient air samples.  EAS was the first lab to offer air data deliverable  packages (CLP) under the EPA Special Analytical Services (SAS) program.  EAS was also the first air lab to offer the EPA 8260 target list of compounds including oxygenated hydrocarbons for air samples, and was the first lab to offer Selected Ion Monitoring (SIM) with method detection limits of 0.005 ppbv for use in ambient air and vapor intrusion samples.
